Wedding of Donna & Adrian at the Oaklands Norwich

Had a wonderful day with Donna & Adrian at The Oaklands Hotel & Restaurant celebrating their wedding after a 10 year courtship! It was lovely to see all the guests having a great time, the weather was sunny and warm, and really couldn’t have been much better! Thank you for letting us share your day with you both. We wish you a long and happy marriage x

Sometimes I wonder if I should take action or just wait and see… When I heard from a contact that there was a blaze in Hevingham, just up the road from my home, I didn’t hesitate, grabbed my camera and went to the scene.  The Farm’s barns were pretty well ablaze by then, fire crews were on the scene and plenty of on lookers were there enjoying the show!   By chance I managed to speak to the farmer/owner who gave me permission to photograph what transpired.  As you can see the images were pretty dramatic.

Once home I quickly edited a selection of images and shared them with the local media.  Ended up with images on BBC Look East Local News, along with news reports on the BBC News website, EDP 24, Eastern Evening News, East Anglian Daily Times and North Norfolk News.

The only way I knew about this fire was to be told about it.  If you know of something’s going down that’s newsworthy, please give me a quick call!

Finally, our local TV channel, Mustard TV covered the story, using my images – video below.

Knowing Sara for many years now, we were hugely pleased when we learnt she was to be married to her lovely man Andy.   In June 2013 we were lucky enough to attend Sara & Andy Warnes Wedding.  The event took place at Southwood Hall, on the outskirts of Norwich, a beautiful, self contained, wedding venue in the heart of Norfolk. Flowers for the day were provided by Libby Ferris of Norwich. It really was a perfect day from beginning to end.

Arriving there early to a relaxed atmosphere where no one seemed to be rushing, the excitement was yet to come. We captured some shots of the handsome Groom getting ready for the big day.

The wedding ceremony took place outside under wonderful afternoon sun with around 80 people.   The wedding speeches followed after canapes and Pimms, whilst the children were taken care of by the childminder brought in for the day (what a great idea).  We then had dedicated servers who carved the pork while the vegetables were brought to us by the Southwood Hall staff.

Food and great conversation over, the local band Super Action Hero’s spent most of the night playing an eclectic range of music whilst everyone enjoyed the warm summers evening, a barbeque and more drinks!

Thank you guys for inviting us and letting us photograph your wonderful day x

Annette, my wife, goes and has her lady pampering ‘stuff’ done one in a while and the lovely lady who keep her happy is Cat, who owns a beauty business here in Norwich.  She was keen to come and have some pictures taken, so we managed to grab a fairly cool night in May and spent probably no more than 30 minutes taken some shots in the woods with Cat.

Considering we had very little time to setup, but thankfully had Annette on the handled softbox and Rosie,  our daughter, on the backlit flash, I think it went rather well.  (Not to forget to mention the time at the PC did take a little longer!)

We look forward to doing the next one!

Well, after watching a B&H Youtube video on, I forget what now, the guy on there talked about his Lensbaby and that he takes it everywhere with him.  It got me wondering and after looking on WEX I was really surprised to see they were so little money compared to most lenses… I just had to have one!

So, unlike most lenses you have little disks to change the aperture  all manual focus, so within reason you are on your own.  Its great fun.  Here are a few pic’s I took with it, and I’ll add more soon, as I get better.  Hope you like them 🙂
